Greetings from the New President

Jane Jones

It’s not going to be easy to follow in Marianne Jackson’s footsteps after the great job she has done for the past four years, but I am going to try to do my best. I hope everyone will be patient with me as I try to find my way in this new world of mine. I will welcome any help and suggestions you send my way.

First, a bit about me. My husband, Dick, and I began lessons at the Hayloft barn in 2008, just 9 years ago. We were looking for something to do together in the winter time when we couldn’t get out and bike. Well, we certainly found something we could do together, not only in the winter, but year round. We both fell in love with dancing and have loved being part of the dance community since then; not only Cincinnati’s dance community but the nation’s dance community and the world’s dance community. What fun we have had dancing at the national conventions with people from all over the world and with people from next door.

And now we are getting ready to host the National Convention right here in Cincinnati. We are so all excited about that, to be able to show off our wonderful city and to be able to show dancers from all over the world our dancers’ hospitality, friendship & love.

And to be able to do that, we need volunteers to fill many different positions. I know we already have many wonderful dancers who have been working hard behind the scenes for months or years to make this all this happen, but we will need many more as the time gets closer. If you would like to help out, please contact me and I will do my best to get you in touch with someone who can find a place where you can help. Or if you are in a leadership position and need volunteers, please let me know also, so I can try to match you up with someone who wants to help. We have to pull together on this!

Love & hugs to all.

Jane
