Message from the President

Happy summer to everyone!  I’m so glad to see it finally arrive.  I hope that everyone is finding time to dance with friends as well as spending time traveling and enjoying the summer activities.  All of our Greater Cincinnati Clubs are participating in the Dangle Dances this summer, having fun with the theme “All That Jazz” and looking forward to next year’s Ohio Dance Convention.

The 2020 Ohio Dance Convention, ‘Roaring In the 20’s”, will be held in Columbus at the Crowne Plaza Columbus North-Worthington on May 1 & 2.  This centrally-located event center is an easy drive from anywhere in the state and is a wonderful facility with all the convention rooms, hotel rooms and restaurants under one roof.   And with FREE parking!

The Greater Cincinnati Dance Federation got the 2020 convention activities off to a great start at the close of the Saturday evening ceremony at this year’s convention in Aurora, Ohio, with our area dancers dressed in 1920’s costumes and marching in a Roaring 20’s Parade.  Beads and arm garters were handed out to all the dancers at the evening ceremony and then everyone got up to participate in a fun time learning some steps from the Charleston.

Dancers from the Greater Cincinnati area will be attending many dances around the state and in the nearby states over the following year, promoting the convention and taking registrations.  Also, a Jazz Publicity Box was given to all the federations and council presidents to take to their own area clubs.  The clubs have been asked to send pictures from all of the dances to which the Jazz box is taken.

Please see also the pictures that have been sent so far and watch this space for more pictures.
